The Tree of Hands

This is possibly one of my best. The Tree of Hands started out as a random drawing in my sketchbook. I was bored on lunchtime at school and was about trees and stuff. And suddenly out of nowhere came this vision in my head. I quickly scribbled it down, thinking "Wow, this is the trippiest shit ever!".
I would have uploaded the original but though it wasn't neat enough. This painting didn't come until many months later. I wanted it on DA but like I said, The original was only just a rough sketch. This lead to doing the painting, but I reckon I would've got round to doing a painted version at some point anyway.
This is the only painting that has taken the longest for me to do. It was a phenomenal amount work which went into this. Many late nights, my mum shouting at me, lack of sleep, mistakes, wrong colours mixings before finally arriving at what you see before you now. I was thinking of adding in clouds but I think I'll leave it now. It would only ruin it.

The concept of the painting represents humankind's long forgotten roots with nature as repented by the tree. The hands stretch out like tree branches seeking more light and to grow taller grow wiser with age. Yet the higher it grows, the further away it is from the ground. As a result it forgets about the roots it sprouted from, only reaching up ward and not appreciating the beautiful world around it. Remember where you came from, always. After all, we ARE animals.
